dear colleagues,

the Nordic Language Processing Laboratory (NLPL) will hold its third
annual winter school from sunday, february 2, to tuesday, february 4,
2019, in the norwegian mountains.

as in previous years, the theme of the winter school is on deep
learning techniques for natural language processing, with lectures
(and some hands-on exercises) by yoav goldberg, barbara plank, and
natalie schluter. the main target audience are doctoral students and
other researchers in natural language processing from northern europe.

there is no participant fee for the winter school, and NLPL provides
free bus transfer between the oslo airport and the conference hotel
(about two hours north of oslo, with skiing facilities just outside
the door). however, participants will need to cover their own travel
to oslo and accommodation at the hotel (at about NOK 2900 for two
nights in a single room and all meals, including unlimited tap water
and coffee).

we would like to kindly invite expressions of interest in
participation in the winter school. please register through the
following on-line form:

the organizing team will confirm registrations on a first-come,
first-served basis, so please do not make travel arrangements before
your participation has been confirmed. the closing date for
registration is friday, december 13, 2019. for additional background,
please also see the emerging web page for the meeting, including links
to the materials from our winter schools in previous years:

for any questions you might have, please email us at ‘outreach at nlpl.eu’.

best wishes, oe (for the NLPL outreach team)
