Just to let you know, I got green light for the directories on Puhti:

/appl/soft/nlpl (50 G)
and
/appl/data/nlpl (8 T)

This makes NLPL defacto a sister project to the Language Bank, since our data will also go to /appl/{soft,data}/ and I think this makes sense also logically.
This also means that the data will not be removed 4 times a year. The managers I asked suggested that the data should later be put into "Allas", our new Object Storage[1]. From there replication to Saga or later LUMI should be easy, at least for the data.

The directories do not exist yet, I'll send another mail once they are in place.
