i have not seen any indication yet of us stretching things too far, so
i would say what i wrote to mats a couple of weeks ago applies to this
larger group of students just as well. as of this semester, we have
tried something similar: setting up second-semester MSc students on
Abel for course work even before they start work on their MSc project
in earnest.

i suggest we just use the ‘standard’ procedure, i.e. you point those
students to the on-line account application form for Abel:

http://wiki.nlpl.eu/index.php/Infrastructure/resources

i need to electronically sign each incoming application; in the past,
i usually knew what to expect so did not necessarily double-check with
the site manager. in this case, i imagine it could be helpful if you
just emailed me a list of the students beforehand (or shared an
on-line spreadsheet, where i could even try to record whose
applications i have seen).

best wishes, oe
There are 25 students altogether, and not all of them will need HPC support for their project or master’s thesis, but I estimate that at least half of them probably will. Based on your answer to Mats recently, I am optimistic in thinking that they can get accounts on Abel through NLPL. If this is the case, would you prefer for me to send you a list of all students with email address, or do you want them to contact you individually (or should we use a completely different procedure)?
