Thanks for getting back to me. I can now write to the 'parsing' and 'translation' sub-directories in /projects/nlpl/, but not in that directory itself nor for example in the 'corpora' or 'modules' sub-directories. I suppose whether or not I need to will
depend on the installation guides and where for example module files are going to be located. We will also have corpora associated with the parsers we are planning to install so again it depends on where we are going to put those.

We will hold off doing anything until we hear from you next week about installation guides. I don't currently have access to the NLPL Wiki as I joined the project late, is it still possible for me to get that?

hi again, aaron (and sara),

i am copying the NLPL ‘infrastructure’ list, as i suggest we do
habitually on most email related to software or data installations.

the current directory structure on Abel actually in part pre-dates the
installation guide (which was meant to reflect that structure), in
part it shows extensions that have been proposed later, notably the
suggestion to reflect the NLPL-internal structure and organize
activity-specific data below activity-specific directories, e.g.
‘parsing’ for Activity (C).

the infrastructure task force is in the process of migrating the
installation guide to the NLPL wiki these days, and we will update the
document to provide a consistent initial picture. at the same time,
there will no doubt be more ‘layout’ and ‘design' decisions to be made
down the road, and our suggestion is to use the infrastructure task
force as a kind of ‘clearing house’ (or meta-maintainer) for this
emerging collection of collectively maintained software and data
resources.

our next meeting is this coming monday, so please give us until
sometime next week to get back to everyone about installation
routines.

that should now be the case. could you confirm that you have the
right group membership and can write below ‘/projects/nlpl/’ and
relevant sub-directories?
