Hi,
Sorry but i cannot make it on Friday. We have a department board meeting from 14-16 and I might have yet another thing to attend in the morning as well.
This will be difficult. OPUS is now fully synced to puhti. So, I would be starting to treat this is the master copy. Software is still an open question. I will try to port my modules and Yves will do the same. So far, I always tried to make them available on abel as well and I believe that Yves did more or less the same. Would that be a good start from our side? We will skip the old HNMT theano thingies but the rest from our responsibilities could move to puhti as well (only the newest versions)
All the best,
Jörg

hi all,
during our infrastructure meeting on friday, we were looking at this coming friday (october 25) for another attempt to get all four of us together. i feel we should talk a little more about which software modules to install on which systems, and how do distribute the responsibilities. i think we had identified CEST 13-14 or 14-15 as possible times. does either work for you too, joerg?
for the reinstallation of the laboratory, i would like to emphasize parallelism more than we have done in the past, i.e. say that the default assumption is that all NLPL modules and data are installed on both systems? regarding, i am inclined to think that replication by nightly cron(8) jobs works quite well already, though we have yet to turn on remote synchronization of the full OPUS collection ...
best wishes, oe

I’m sorry - I missed that meeting. I didn’t put it into my calendar and then I was away and in another skype meeting.
My apologies for that. A quick update on porting things to puhti: I am now syncing OPUS from taito to puhti. It takes time but all will be there by the end of the week.
We have not started the software package migration yet but I talked to Yves about it over lunch. We will basically install the MT modules that we have on taito also on puhti. It should be rather straightfoward.
From the morning and the EOSC meeting - the information about containers with layers sounds interesting to me. How can we learn more about this and what is the future of container support on puhti? Anything else that was on the agenda and that you would like me to comment on?
All the best,
Jörg
