I remember that I also clicked on that link for opening the NLPL-NEIC project (am I allowed to do that)?
Anyway, the old projects seem to work on puhti. Good to have at least multiple times the same scratch quota ….
All the best,
Jörg

Hi Stephan,
Could you try to activate Puhti in my.csc.fi<http://my.csc.fi/>? Go to My Projects > 2000582<tel:2000582> (NeIC-NLPL). > Services and select Puhti. This should give you (and all the members) access to Puhti.
On a side note: The home and scratch directories on Puhti are NVMEs, a simple speed test with dd gave me 1.4 GB/sec as opposed to 400 MB/sec on /tmp. I will need to tweak my scripts :)

many thanks for the summary, martin (and for being our host today)!
i think your summary is spot-on!
at the more technical level, our preference is for our community directory to be called ‘/projappl/nlpl/’ and be controlled by the existing project #2000582<tel:2000582> (NeIC-NLPL).
fingers crossed :-), oe

Hi,
So to have something in writing:
We discussed migration of software and data to Puhti/Saga as an exercise to make NLPL more longer term beyond 2020.
We decided to migrate mostly "the old way" i.e. using the same installation methods used when setting up Abel/Taito, but with more automated approaches like Spack/Conda in mind, to be reconsidered during the upcoming EOSC project.
We decided to create a list of software/data to be migrated.
We decided that Martin requests a NLPL directory on Puhti with 7.8 TB of quota for data and 200 GB for software.
We decided to version use version control for installation scripts, a location is not quite clear yet, options are version.helsinki.fi<http://version.helsinki.fi/>, Code Refinery and Github.com<http://Github.com> are options.
Did I miss anything?
Martin
P.S.: version.helsinki.fi<http://version.helsinki.fi/> says to me: "Sign-in failed because Email domain is not authorized for sign-up." Oh well...
