there is one more unreadable directory on Abel:

drwxr-S--- 3 joerg hpc-nlpl 2048 Dec 21  2017
/projects/nlpl/software/nlpl-common/.pki/

i believe the capital ‘S’ for the group probably means that ‘g+x’ is
missing, which means i cannot search the directory, because i am a
member of the group.  in general, i would recommend something like

chmod -R g+rX,o+rX /projects/nlpl/software/nlpl-common/

the capital ‘X’ will set that bit if and only if it is already set for
any of the other access levels, i.e. user, group, or other.

and a few more on Taito:

[oe at taito-login3 ~]$ grep -v 'is uptodate'
/proj/nlpl/operation/mirror/log/taito/nird.18-09-26-02\:00 | grep
Permission | wc -l

—i will have a look into replicating parts of OPUS from Taito to Abel.
is it conceivable to define an example workflow using OpenNMT and OPUS
files?
