Thanks, Stephan. We have a new team member in Uppsala, Aaron Smith. Can I just ask him to subscribe to the team list, or does this need to be approved somewhere first?

dear NLPL project members,
i am happy to announce that the NLPL steering group has appointed a few ‘task forces’, essentially smaller sub-groups within the project that collaborate on a specific topic.
so far, there are the following two task forces, but we might well add a couple more before too long:
(A) Infrastructure and Allocations: bjørn, jörg, martin, oe
(H) Training and Outreach: bjørn, filip, jörg, oe
the infrastructure task force is now active to help wrap up software and data installations and facilitate work on ’getting started‘ guides and other documentation. we will be in touch with more specific queries to the various activities in the project.
synchronizing across sites and the various HPC facilities is a core challenge in NLPL. please make it a habit to copy ‘infrastructure at nlpl.eu<mailto:infrastructure at nlpl.eu>’ on all technical communication, for example requests for the installation of specific packages, other support queries to the Abel or Taito operators, or questions regarding the allocation of NLPL computing and storage resources.
the mailing list for the task forces are archived, so that we over time build up a historic record that is publicly accessible. please see the following summary page for access to the archives:
http://lists.nlpl.eu<http://lists.nlpl.eu/>
please email us at ‘infrastructure at nlpl.eu<mailto:infrastructure at nlpl.eu>’ with any suggestions or comments (on technical infrastructure and allocations) you might have, or of course in case you encounter something unexpected with the NLPL services.
best wishes, oe
